DIY Ripped Jeans: Fun and Inexpensive

Things you'll need:

  1. A pair of scissors
  2. A ruler
  3. A pen (or a chalk would be better)
  4. Tweezers
  5. A pair of old jeans
  6. And patience

Step 1: Draw two horizontal lines with the help of the chalk or pen.

Step 2: As shown in pic 2, hold your jeans in that manner and with the help of scissor, make a small cut.

Step 3: From that cut, try to cut the jeans from where the line is drawn and cut as straight as you can.

Step 4: Once you're done with the "cutting" part, fold your jeans upside down and you'll be able to see the vertical and horizontal threads. Now, avoid pulling out the horizontal threads and pull out the vertical ones with the help of the tweezer After some time, what you'll get will look more like what's shown in pic 11.

Step 5: Fold the jeans again and see if there are any vertical threads left. And if you want little horizontal threads hanging from the sides, you can just pull those out too with the help of the tweezer.

Step 6: If you want the ripped style shown in pic 15, make a vertical cut and pull out few horizontal threads. Then, it'll look the same.

The result will look something like this:
